Tufas Boulder Lounge

We had an incredibly fun and educational time in our Intro to Boulder Class with Tim! He was supportive, informative, and a great guide for a beginner looking to learn more about climbing. We had such a great time, that we came back to visit the gym again for a day pass. The rates are economically mindful, fair, and affordable. This is the first time I’ve been to a rock climbing session where I learned so much! The staff and facility here is amazing. The kids I brought with me learned a lot and were able to apply the skills taught by Tim. He was super friendly and helpful. Thank you Tufas for such a great experience! I look forward to coming back again.

Excellent bouldering gym. Nothing much bad to say about the experience. Great use of the space with a diverse set of features including a beautiful sustained over hang section that’s the perfect length and height. Two system boards and a work out area. For a small gym they have everything needed. Route setting is exceptional with technical skill being needed at all grades. Interesting, functional, esthetic problems throughout and no ladder climbs at all. Music and vibes were also very good. The smaller gym and friendly staff made it so you feel very much at home and comfortable talking to other climbers and sharing in the experience. This is a quiet gem of a gym. Biggest issue is that it’s not near my house or it would be perfect.

Came for a day trip, the building is nice, definitely well cared for, pretty clean. Nicely ventilated with the open from garage door and aesthetically pleasing. TONS of wall styles, was a huge fan of that. One of our biggest issues was the grading felt...inconsistent? Some problems labelled 2-4 barely felt like 1s, some 2-4 felt like 5s. It was almost as if each setter did their own thing without test running each others problems. Could have just been that setting but as a guest, it was peculiar. The problem were decent though it did feel like it was missing...something. Theres so much blank space I'd have loved to see more unique problems (roof traverse across from your moonboards? So much potential) but I chalked that up to the fact that they still had a competition set up. Also location kinda was a bummer for us. We drove a bit over and hour and when we got there we realized the gym itself is gorgeous, but its really not in the best part of town, and parking is EXTREMELY limited so we had to park a bit further than we'd have liked given the area. All in all it's a beautiful gym, but a combo situation means we likely won't be taking a day trip here again sadly.

Great gym! The staff was friendly and helpful. My wife and I took the "intro to bouldering" class and were lucky to get Daniela as our instructor. She was very informative and skilled. She encouraged us to get down the fundamentals as she familiarized us with the gym's features. I highly recommend the class if you haven't been here yet... and if you haven't... get your butt here!

this place is sick. pretty much exactly how i would run a bouldering gym: ample wall space, spray/system walls, plenty of cubbies and seats, hangboard/training area, a nice ping pong table, ample quiet fans, and even a couple sinks in the open space, separate from individual bathrooms that have showers! not to mention setting seems fantastic
